New York State's housing agencies are undergoing an historic transformation. Under the direction of Governor David A. Paterson, "nyhomes" and the Division of Housing and Community Renewal are implementing an initiative that has been discussed and advocated for years but never before accomplished - the integration of the policy-making and administrative functions of the State's major housing agencies under a single leadership structure.
Governor Paterson on Government efficiency:
"This initiative is an ongoing process of streamlining State agencies in a smart and targeted manner that delivers essential services more efficiently and at a lower cost. The consolidation of the DHCR and 'nyhomes' leadership positions is the first step toward creating a single management structure with synergies in administration, asset management and grant making."
